The Thriftiest Place to Shop - REALLY!

You're not imagining things.
If you get this via email, you got a
duplicate of another post with a
"Thriftiest Place to Shop - Part Deux" title.

I was surprised to find the body
of the post was the same as

I don't know what happened.
The mistake could've been mine.
Anyway, sorry about that!
I should've copied and pasted
my content into something,
because I think it was
better than what I'm about to write!

In February, I posted about the
and I've been shopping there again.

I was looking specifically for things to go
in my "Industrial Elegant Cottage Living Room."

Here are a few finds:

A pair of gilded plaques - they will probably
be given "the treatment" or at least "A treatment."

A vintage SOUVENIR DE PARIS wall plaque of the Eiffel Tower.

Authentic deer antlers with fuzz.

A vintage gilded frame from my favorite aunt June.

A few vintage wooden bowls with signed bottoms.

A zinc "vase."

An assortment of silver toned photo frames.
(That's my cute daddy.)

A wooden tray I had in the kitchen a while back - painted blue.

It will probably go gray.
Plus the little drawer from my
friend Julie's shop a few years ago,
and the rubber stamp holder I've had for years
pictured above.

In addition to these FREE items...

I purchased 3 of these in different sizes - $5 for all.

These are the smallest. I love the detail...

And this little frame on the right.

Yes, for .33c.
It's got the 1950s faux pearl stuff on the sides,
and gold tone metal framing it all.

Maybe this weekend, the majority of the items
above will become part of a gallery wall
on my new greige walls!

Now that most of the dirty work is done,
the fun part is calling my name!

What's calling your name this weekend?

Word for the Day:

Your words were found, and I ate them,

and your words became to me a joy
and the delight of my heart,
for I am called by your name
O LORD, God of hosts.

I'd rather shop a place like this than any other store. I haven't been to a mall in years!

Revi, those mirrors are just too much. How fun to have the weekend to play. I want to see what you do with it all in your industrial elegant cottage living room.

As for me having an email post thingy that you can't find, I finally know what you mean. I will have to go put that on. I thought you meant something else in settings. I'm on it! As for the Rascal getting together with your dainty Miss Martha...I don't think it's wise quite yet. He's on probation. I have him doing penance on the back patio dressed in shades of aqua and holding flowers to see if he can learn some manners or better behavior. Besides, if Martha doesn't get dressed, the last thing I want is for my little rogue to get anywhere near her. For shame! How could you even suggest such a thing, she's not even dressed yet, Revi! For heaven's sake! We can't matchmake if she's gonna lead my prodigal bureau astray after I rescued him from the trash he was hanging with. Besides, it looks like there's a huge age difference. I'm just afraid that wouldn't work. She needs to find a more refined chest than the my little scrawny rascal. Then again, if it's love...who are we to get in the way? Get the girl in a frock and we'll talk.

You are SO right -- I find that I get used to 'seeing' things in the garage, basement or even my work room and just don't notice them anymore! You've got some great pieces there -- thanks for your post and 'word' of the day! Amen!
