When I think of Ironstone, I usually think of traditional pieces with simple yet interesting shapes.
Recently, I've found a couple of pieces that "break the mold" so to speak...
This diminutive mid-century modern cream pitcher is 56 years old...see the crazing?
It was designed by Lagardo Tackett for Schmid.
I love it, but I don't do much mid-century modern in my home, so it' will go to Etsy, where it can make friends with this other mod ironstone pitcher.
This piece is twice the size of the other pitcher. It has been favorited many times, but has not sold yet.
I don't really know how old this piece is, but it's post dishwasher and pre-microwave...1950's or 1960's maybe.
So, if you know anyone who likes ironstone AND mid-century mod style, send them over...
This old stuff looks like it is new-ish. Everything old is new again.
Word for the Day:
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

they both have some interesting shapes. Very pretty
I like both of them, but I'm not in shopping mode right now :) I will pin them, though!

Interesting shaped pitchers. Would not have suspected them to be ironstone. I like the shape of the second one the best. They look great with the old books.

Those pitchers have great shape and character. Someone is going to love them!
Hugs, Dianne
Both are very unique Revi. Thanks for sharing them with SYC.
