Befores and Afters: Seven MORE Furniture Projects

#1 BEFORE:
A freebie from my church youth house -
battered, but she has nice lines.

#1 AFTER:
(NOTE: After looking at half a dozen places,
I think I have finally found the correct baskets
to go where the missing drawer went!
Where? WALMART. (not pictured)
I have to buy 3 more and paint them white...

#2 BEFORE:
As spotted at the thrift store:
Ummm - that cushion needed a cover AND some padding.

#2 AFTER:
With gold spray paint and matching vinyl recovered (padded) cushion:
Jane Jetson sat here. :)

#3 BEFORE:

$5 at the thrift store...

#3 AFTER:
A coat of ASCP French Linen on the whole chair - even the upholstery:

#4 BEFORE:
As spotted in a dumpster-bound stack from my church storage building:

#4 AFTER:
With only a coat or two of homemade white plaster paint:

#5 BEFORE:
As spotted at the thrift store for only $60:

#5 AFTER:
A cushion-ectomy and applying three .50c mis-tint sample pots of watered down latex paint:

#6 BEFORE:
Dumpster-bound freebie from church storage building:
I have two of these chairs - the other is yet to be painted, but on my to-do list.

#6 AFTER:
Nothing more than a coat of white plaster paint:
A new chair cushion cover is on my to-do list.

#7 BEFORE:
A freebie from...don't hate me...my church.

First, I painted it silver and aged it, added 2x4 legs (thanks, Mason!) and it worked for a while.

#7 AFTER:

Yes, it got a fresh coat of white.
If it does not move, and it stays here a while,
it has or will most likely get painted white.

Do YOU have some amazing transformations
that might inspire others?

Be sure to share them
at Thrifty Life Thursday,
here at Revisionary Life.

Word for the Day:

Revelation 21:5

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Thrifty Life Thursday #11 and a Bird Makeover

About the only blog-worthy thing I did this week was show you a recent remake of my middle bedroom, though I didn't elaborate on the details.

Here is one of my changes - it is one of those plastic faux wood things from the 1970s or 1980s - some were butterflies, etc. I usually pass up the plastic stuff, but I thought the bird could be charming and I think this was 50c.

I had painted it with oil rubbed bronze spray paint, but it still needed something. When I was going through some stuff, I found it and decided to give it a coat of homemade plaster paint and distress it to show the bronze. I think it looks like chippy metal...and now I like it. :)

I just gotta say...

This link party business is pretty cool - I am ALWAYS fascinated by your creativity, and the totally cool stuff you find. I often see stuff I have never seen before, as well as stuff I HAVE in my house - both are very amusing. :)

Just take a look at this week's features from Thrifty Life Thursday #10:

Penny from Penny's Vintage Home knocked my socks off with several feature-worthy projects, but this one charmed me the most. Do you love her pretty pink chest of drawers/planter as much as I do? And I could be a tad envious of her bright green thumb...

Mary Alice of Chateau Chic invited spring inside her home by creating some lovely vignettes. She has a knack for creating pin-worthy vignettes from vintage objects. This one was my favorite, but there are more!

Cindy from Consider It All Joy revised and repurposed a vintage wooden caddy into a pretty AND functional piece. I may not have noticed it before, but now, I WANT ONE. Love the keys on it, too.

THRIFTY LIFE THURSDAY #11

Gathering Guidelines:

This is a gathering for people who enjoy hunting for treasures
that may have previous experience or lived a former life elsewhere.
Please share items that are second-hand or are composed of second-hand materials.

Types of Posts to Share:
    • Home decor, furniture, collectibles, garden items and even wearables are welcome, as long as they have a second-hand element.
    • Please, no food items, new pieces from "real" stores, or crafts, unless made with upcycled thrifty finds.
    • Hand-me-downs and curbside finds are welcome, as are items found in thrift stores, garage sales, antique shops, flea markets and other interesting places.
    • Treasures may be listed as you found them, or with your updates, tweaks, and re-purposes; befores and afters are both welcome.
    • Items need not be "vintage" but must be pre-owned or second hand.
    • Posts including Etsy and other shop links are welcome! For visitor enjoyment, please link to your blog post, not directly to your Etsy shop.
    Etiquette:
      • Though it is not a requirement, it would be lovely if you would follow Revisionary Life some way - via Blogger, Pinterest or Facebook or subscribe via email. Links are located in my sidebar to the right.
      • Please link your post (not your blog address) back to Revisionary Life.
      • Please visit at least one other party friend.
      • I'd love for you to comment and introduce yourself if we've never met before. :) Otherwise, don't feel obligated to leave a comment.
      Features:
      • Featured items must meet the criteria above.
      • Only posts that link back may be featured.
      • I will try to email you and let you know if you were featured!

      Word for the Day:
      Hebrews 10:24-25
      24
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
