Thrift Store Mystery Solved!

Last Friday, I stopped by Goodwill after work. I found several cool things, and a couple of them weren't priced. This is one that didn't have a price on it.

Normally, NO PRICE is the kiss of death. No price, no sale.
I had no idea what this thing was, but I loved the look of it.

It was well made, with dovetailed corners. It had the "vintage industrial" look I'm so attracted to lately! I lusted for it.

I decided to go for broke and see if they'd sell it to me.
Score! I ended up getting it for a buck.

A little Google detective work, and I found out how it actually was used! Look at this 1911 ad I found via Period Paper on Amazon.

Of course, I thought it might look better painted white.

I saw a few of them listed on Ebay and Etsy for about $14.
I guess I paid twice what this one would have cost in 1911.

I won't sell it. This was state of the art in 1911! I love having a little piece of industrial history. Plus, it will fit in quite nicely with my Pressure Cooker!

Job 33:14-16

when deep sleep falls on men,
while they slumber on their beds,
