Frugal Finds, Goals and Accomplishments for This Week

Larger than life! A pair of milk glass candlesticks. And I JUST SAID I'd never seen one before when I found the last one. These were .50c for the pair!

Every home needs a wooden swan, right? Only this one's not staying. No, he won't shed or potty or do any of the things that make not choose to have an animal - He just falls into the category of things I find that I think are cool, but I don't use them.

He'll be showing up in my Etsy store. I wonder how much wooden swans are going for these days? :)

A beautiful birch bark box. Not sure where it's going, but it's staying.

Four simple white mugs. No, they're not vintage or ironstone and they may even have come from the dollar store, but I needed some new ones, and these were a steal.

Told ya. Now you tell me: Where in the world can you find ANYTHING that costs 17c retail these days?

Paper doilies to be used for some craft project. And some type of white tape - maybe to stiffen a waist band. I may use it to trim out lamp shades.

A handmade, wooden towel rack. This is already painted a shade of white. It was found JUST IN TIME for a very special purpose I will share later this week!

Oh, little thrift store, how do I love your lovely prices that end in 7? I shall love thee always.

What do you think of these 57c FAUX BOOKS? WOODEN!

I can just hear some poor little crafter newbie. The moment after she wrote on them with her trusty Sharpie; "Why did I do that?" Been there and done that - just not on faux books.

These are already painted white as well. They need some lettering, and probably it won't be done with a sharpie. Probably.

These wooden discs were .50c each. A tad pricey, but I have plans for them.

A nice wooden plate stand. You just never know when one of these is needed for a plate or a small framed piece -.50c

Last Week's Goal's:
1. Be a diligent dieter with zero cheating. YEAH! Down 8 lbs. :)
2. Get new driver's license to replace my misplaced one, then turn in hospice volunteer paperwork. Visit Violet. Visited Violet on Tuesday. Talked with volunteer coordinator, scheduled training on Wednesday for the end of the month. Driver's license done on Monday. HATE my new photo. (You look down at a blue dot, so I look tipsy.)
3. 10 new Etsy listings. Done by Thursday night.
4. 3 new blog posts. Squeaked by. Busy week away from the house.
5. Make 6 pairs of earrings for Etsy. Didn't happen.
6. Catch up on laundry and housework. Laundry - ok. Housework - needs improvement.
7. Set my new toilet in the front bathroom. Didn't happen. MASON...

This Week's Goals:
1. Stay diligent with my diet and lose 5 more lbs at least.
2. Cook and freeze, slice raw veggies and prep lunches for work & easy dinners.
3. List 10 new Etsy things.
4. Make earrings for Etsy - 6 pairs.
5. Work 30 minutes on housework each evening.
6. 3 blog posts and set up a Facebook page.
7. Set my new toilet in the front bathroom.

Word for the Day:
Deuteronomy 14:12-20

12 But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,

14 And every raven after his kind,

15 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,

17 And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,

18 And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

19 And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.

20 But of all clean fowls ye may eat.

Gosh, that is a thrift store to love! You can't find one of those easels anywhere near that price at a store and the wooden discs are a steal too when you think of the trouble it would take to cut wood out, round the edge and put the hole in them. Nice finds, all of them. Such an interesting collection!

I can't find anything in our GW or thrift store for 17cents, our prices are like antique stores. Love all your fabulous finds especially those milk glass candlesticks.

Great finds and unbelievable prices, that makes shopping fun.
I don't know why it is, but, whites don't do so well around here, unless it is chunky pottery style dishes. Seems like most are shopping for primitive, shabby chic, or modern. I love the French Country look, but, can't seem to sell it. Blessings, Trisha

Wow, those are great prices. The thrift stores in my city charge antique store prices like $499.99 for a dresser.

Oh wow! super cool stuff. Did a quick check on wooden swans...I know your question was probably rhetorical, but you made me curious! Anyway,...lots of variety. In style and price!

Congrats on the weightloss! woot-woot!!!

I think I need to follow your example and make a list of goals for the week ...I definitely need to get new merchandise in my store!
