Under Pressure...

Lyrics to that 1981 song by David Bowie & Queen are coming to mind.

Occasionally, I see something at Goodwill that I can't believe is still there waiting for me.

Look at those thumb screws. Seriously. Doesn't anyone else see how cool this is?

Granted, it costs ten bucks - and I rarely take home things that cost ten bucks. But this one is SOOOO cool.It fairly REEKS of state-of-the-art 1938 gourmet kitchen equipment.

This heavy duty, industrial-vintage, kitchen equipment that looks like it could easily be a staple in Dr. Frankenstein's laboratory.

Now, as I'm sticking this jewel in my cart, I ask myself, "What in the world will I do with this monstrosity?" Still, it comes home with me. All 12 lbs. of it.

So, I ask you: WOULD YOU BUY IT?
If so, what would you do with it? I'm open to all ideas...except its intended use. :)

Word for the Day:
2 Corinthians 11:28
Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches.

I do believe I would have purchased this gem. It will take me a little longer to visualise a plan, though! ;)

Interesting! It does look heavy. I don't think I've ever seen your kitchen...maybe you could use it for storage of some sort in you kitchen. I see people take pieces like this and display them; but also make them function as something else, usually storage.
As to the David Bowie/Queen reference... (I'm a closet Queen lover) It hails from back in the day!

have a great Tuesday! Pat

oh my! how big is it? Definitely not using it for cooking. Display/decorative. you could line the inside with cloth (if the inside is rusted or ruined)and use it as tea/coffee station supplies, or similar. Looks really cool

I too would be drawn to it but wouldn't have a clue what I would do with it. I'll have to think about that. Whatever you do with it is bound to be something very cool!

What about storing matches & fire starting stuff in it on a hearth?

I don't think I would buy it, but I would sure admire it. It's really cool-looking. I can't think of anything right now that I would use it for except to use it as a planter or to put wooden utensils in or cookbooks. I can't wait to see what you do with it!!

I would of bought it too, just a cool looking piece. I don't know what to do with it, it's kind of hard to see its size. Storage?
