This past couple of weeks has been fairly mmmm...crazy around here...probably about the same as at your house. Yesterday, Hannah's movers arrived to take the collection of thrift store furniture finds and boxes of "stuff" to her new home.
As they worked putting stickers on everything, I surveyed the odd assortment of chairs, tables and decorative items - none of which matched anything. I suppose the abundance of un-revised thrift store stuff gave me a glimpse of what people might feel when they see a diamond in the rough.
You know - that "deer in the headlights" look that says, "What in the world have I gotten myself into now...?" I actually felt like I should tell the movers that it was all getting ready to get a nice, new coat of paint on it. I was pretty sure they thought it was the saddest lot of furniture they had seen in a while - or maybe EVER.

I actually felt like I should tell the movers that it was all getting ready to get a nice, new coat of paint on it. I was pretty sure they thought it was the saddest lot of furniture they had seen in a while - or maybe EVER.
I called Hannah and said, "It looks PREEETTTY bad. But I KNOW it will all look better with a coat of white plaster paint, so don't worry..." To which she replied, "Mom - I've seen it all. A lot. I know...," without the slightest hint of deer in the headlights sound in her sweet voice.
Today she phoned to let me know the movers had just unloaded the stuff in her house. And she said, "It's beginning to feel like home." She said that BEFORE one drop of white home-made plaster paint has been mixed or applied. Lord, bless her. I just love that girl!
Speaking of what a nice coat of white paint can do...let's get this show on the road! Better late than never...right?
A dated vintage spice rack becomes a thing of beauty (and function) once Cecilia from The B Farm gets her hands on it!
Crystelle from Crystelle Boutique shared a fun post with ideas for decorating with vintage flash cards. (She shared two more fun projects as well, so my choice of which to feature was not easy!)
Abby from Abby's Way shared a lovely vignette with us from her stairwell. She used a lace curtain from her grandmother to cover a window and it is so charming!
I messed up! Please forgive me. Thrifty Life Thursday #14 is postponed until Wednesday evening this week.

Hannah will make everything lovely, just as you do! I'm so glad she has moved to her new place and I hope she enjoys the new job!
It's exciting to watch our kids take wing and fly! Love the little spice cabinet! No Link this week? Blessings, Cindy
Hannah will have so much fun painting furniture and furnishing her house.
Do not worry, she had a good teacher in how to recycle/repurpose.
Thanks for getting the party together.
Love your features ...
my favorite ... Grandma's lace curtain.
Blessings,
Audrey Z. @ Timeless Treasures
great features...great daughter:) hope she loves her new place and job!
Thanks for featuring my spice rack! It was a fun redo. It sounds like your daughter inherited her mom's being able to see the beauty in an object before a makeover. Great talent to pass on! :)
