Sometimes, things come in groups. I don't just mean groups from the same store, but maybe every where you go you find a certain thing - like milk glass.
The piece above is a special wedding piece used to serve the bride and groom's cake. Apparently the lid can be used to elevate the base...or something.
I just thought it was an amazing piece of milk glass, so I paid more than I usually pay for things in thrift stores - $8. At this point, I'm keeping it. I love the pattern on this piece - it is a quilt pattern.
I think this piece once had a lid, but it works just fine for me without the lid.
The piece below is listed for sale in my Etsy shop. It is a lovely piece from the 1950s, but the scalloped shape does not work in my home as well as the simpler square shapes. I also have a thing for footed pieces lately...
Audrey from Timeless Treasures is back again, with a very clever project!
No, she didn't find this cloche in a Paris flea market - she repurposed it - can you guess how it started?
Kathy at Sharing Shadymont has brought some lovely color into her entry way, using a pretty vintage tablecloth. It looks great with the verdigris candlestick.
Speaking of tablecloths - Abby from Abby's Way sewed a lovely ruffled tablecloth from fabric found in a thrift store - and she embraces the wrinkles! I agree, they lend a casual feel to her pretty spring table vignette.
THRIFTY LIFE THURSDAY #12
This is a gathering for people who enjoy hunting for treasures
that may have previous experience or lived a former life elsewhere.
Please share items that are second-hand or are composed of second-hand materials.
Types of Posts to Share:
- Home decor, furniture, collectibles, garden items and even wearables are welcome, as long as they have a second-hand element.
- Please, no food items, new pieces from "real" stores, or crafts, unless made with upcycled thrifty finds.
- Hand-me-downs and curbside finds are welcome, as are items found in thrift stores, garage sales, antique shops, flea markets and other interesting places.
- Treasures may be listed as you found them, or with your updates, tweaks, and re-purposes; befores and afters are both welcome.
- Items need not be "vintage" but must be pre-owned or second hand.
- Posts including Etsy and other shop links are welcome! For visitor enjoyment, please link to your blog post, not directly to your Etsy shop.
Etiquette:
- Though it is not a requirement, it would be lovely if you would follow Revisionary Life some way - via Blogger, Pinterest or Facebook or subscribe via email. Links are located in my sidebar to the right.
- Please link your post (not your blog address) back to Revisionary Life.
- Please visit at least one other party friend.
- I'd love for you to comment and introduce yourself if we've never met before. :) Otherwise, don't feel obligated to leave a comment.
Features:
- Featured items must meet the criteria above.
- Only posts that link back may be featured.
- I will try to email you and let you know if you were featured!
Word for the Day:
Hebrews 10:24-25
24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Happy Thursday Linky Party! Hope you're having a good week.
Oh Revi ... love your milk glass. The fire from the candle should make that one glow. It is really coming back in style now, just after I got rid of most of mine. Wish I had my cake plate back.
Thanks for being here every Thursday with a very fun and interesting party. So honored that you featured my Wire Trash Basket Cloche.
Thank you you very much.
Audrey Z. @ Timeless Treasures

That is really an unusual milk glass dish!
Thanks for the party, Revi, I always enjoy it.
I know I am a day late (and probably a dollar short!) but I finally got here. Hard day toiling in the yard.
Thank you for hosting - there are great hings here.
Finally getting over here to party Revi. Audrey is one talented gal! I love milk glass and you found some beauts. I have a smaller one similar to the last one. Thanks for the party my friend!
hugs,
Jann
I have just a couple of pieces of milk glass and enjoy using them. I really like your first one displayed. Happy Party this week. Blessings, Cindy
Hi Revi, I love your milk glass...I do enjoy seeing great flea market or thrift store finds...even a curb or roadside find is the Best! I think it's wonderful we have the same taste in a frame...I will look for yours in an older post...Blessings~~~Roxie
Love milk glass!! What's amazing about these is that they are still affordable compared to other collectibles like ironstone, mercury glass, etc. That is a really nice footed piece. Great finds, Revi.
I finally have something to link up :)
