Living Room Gallery Wall (Behind the Sofa)
In the Beginning...
Below - Summer 2012
This was the original gallery wall done after I painted the living room greige.
I used antlers, metallic gold and silver items along with some dark wood framed mirrors,
and added some eclectic elements like the plaster face, a bronze Eiffel Tower souvenir, a milagro cross, a British coat of arms, and some vintage house numbers.
It made a nice-sized area above the center of the sofa.

Growth - Thrift store shopping netted more vintage gold frames,
I painted some small neutral modern art pieces
and added some industrial metal finds to the mix.
This allowed expanding the vignette all the way to the ends of the sofa.

Still growing, using the antlers with more grey, gold, silver and white small mirrors,

Fall 2013
This is my favorite so far. Still adding - but focusing on metallics - gold, silver, grays using mostly mirrors, incorporating a mix of both vintage and faux antiqued mirrors
made using Krylon Looking Glass paint. I will probably do this again in the fall,
adding any new metallic mirrors to the mix!

Spring 2014
I wanted a new, simpler, mostly-white look in the living room for spring.
To keep things interesting, I used a variety of whites and textures; Italian frames
that were found gilded, and I painted them white. I used a very crazed vintage
ironstone platter, added white wall sconces with white ceramic candlesticks and candles,
and faux antique mirrors. My technique for making faux mirrors and mercury glass
is improving as I try adding other elements to make the finish richer.

It does take a little work - filling nail holes and touching up paint, but the end result of each change is rewarding. I can change my living room without much expense, time or effort.

Well Revi ... I'm loving the new Spring 2014 look and I am sure that whatever you add to it will be very impressive. Love that old platter. Good that you can change it up for the seasons. You have had a lot of interesting things on your
wall, so you still have lots to choose from. So inspiring. I'm in a slump and need inspiration to get some Spring stuff up.
Hugs,
Audrey Z. @ Timeless Treasures
Revi, I really like the white! :)

this is such a pretty version--perfect for spring, revi!
Wow, I thought I was bad about starting over on a gallery wall! I guess we're all alike. :-)) Loved what you had before, but the spring one is looking like a nice fresh change.

Oh rev! I absolutely love it! The antlers are so cool, I think they need to go back up there. Lol
Super chic look going on.
love the Spring look! love the faux mirrors and mercury glass. Great job
Revi, love the look especially that ironstone platter. Is that the couch you painted??
Wow, I love the pales with textures for spring so much. I love it! I'd pinned the fall version on my Home Gallery board, but now I'll pin the spring version, too. *awesome*
Oh I love all of them, but I really do like the spring, so fresh. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
