Seven Weekly Goals and Last Week's Progress

Seven Weekly Goals:
1. FINISH putting all the Christmas stuff in the garage.
2. 3 blog posts - 1 tutorial, 1 furniture.
3. Begin yearly tax prep.
4. Research tripods.
5. List 12 new things on Etsy.
6. Begin a 5-day veggie, fruit, meat eating plan. Log it.
7. Exercise 15 minutes per day.

WARNING - the rest of this post is rather wordy. If you choose to accept this mission, be prepared to endure trivial minutia. I'm keeping this post for my own purposes, but you may read on if you care to or if you dare to!

On the bright side, there are photo illustrations of one of my DONE items! Better photos - future Etsy listings. :)

Last week's progress:

1. Get up 30 minutes earlier 2 days this week.
DONE! - Tuesday & Saturday. Notice - I DID NOT go above and beyond on this pitiful goal. That's why I set it so low. I am a bit of a night owl by nature.

2. Freeze or throw out any remaining fattening things leftover from Christmas, and replace them with healthy choices. DONE - no more sweet things are hanging around to tempt me. Carby things are frozen for later. Made a crock pot of white beans, some broccoli cauliflower cheesy soup, polished off the last of the brie, veggie beef soup, etc.

3. Begin exercising 15 minutes per day at home - video, exercise bike, stretching or whatever. Or walk in the neighborhood when it warms up. Call Karen to come with...FAIL - I'm SO bad. It would be so much more fun if YOU could walk with me. I need a real life, in-person accountability partner. I sure wish you lived closer...

4. Call the Hospice coordinator again tomorrow and set the time to meet on Thursday or Friday. DONE - scheduled to meet on Friday at 1:30, but she had to reschedule for Monday.

5. Finish quarterly taxes. DONE on Friday. List 5 new things on Etsy. DONE Friday night. YAY!

6. Find an online how to use a Nikon Coolpix S6100 instruction manual and read it! DONE on Saturday Morning.  WHY DIDN"T I DO THIS BEFORE??? Use the information to take photos on a sunny day this weekend. DONE - My Etsy Photos will be SO much better now. I still have more to learn, but I learned about Macro, how to use my timer, and how to zoom. Now, I need to invest in a better tripod. The one I've been using, when I use it, is from Dollar General! It's a bit rickety, and for desk top photos only.

7. Paint a batch of small items - mirrors, frames, wood components, etc. (Including the items above!) for use in future room renovations. Working on it.

On top of the aforementioned items:
Monday -
-I had a great visit with June and Robert ( and they fed me some tasty soup for dinner!)
Tuesday
-Worked on organizing and putting away Christmas decor (near-obsessive about keeping it organized),
Wednesday -
-attended a dinner & small group Bible Study discussion on Romans. This semester is going to be SO GOOD.
Thursday
-Got a new haircut/style. It's shorter, spikier, and I think I love it! Dinner out with Julie.
Friday
-Went to 3 thrift stores and spent too much money, rationalizing that much of it would be listed on Etsy. I DID find some cool stuff! Got home, and found a package in the mail from Marsha! Woo Hoo!
Saturday
-Worked more on the after-Christmas organization and decorating. I did a bit of house cleaning and maintenance. I also made a batch of tasty, healthy homemade granola and a turkey salad from leftovers. Worked on a post.
Sunday
-Went to church, and afterwards I was treated to lunch by some sweet friends and help her learn a few new computer skills. Visited with my parents - Dad is having day surgery tomorrow. Picked up a few things from Walmart and worked on this post!

Wow, your goals are really working for you. Or maybe it's that you are really working for your goals! Great work. You're an inspiration. Plus, I can already see a new look to your photos. Love it! It's obvious you took time with them. The backdrops are so cool and the new items are so intriguing. Nicely done!

Maybe I need to write down my goals! Sounds like you're doing great! As for exercising-the only way I get it done is to belong to a gym. Just can't do it at home! I would always find a reason not to do it.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Delighted to have discovered your Blog this Evening! What an Inspirational Post. What a great way to keep accountable and take the Goals and Promises to Self in small bites so that its not so overwhelming and remains do-able. I'm got so many things I'm working on in 2013 and listing them and my progress is making it easier to keep on task and not miss how much I am accomplishing rather than focusing on what is left to be done and getting discouraged about it!
