Found Objects - What Is It???

Do you know what the heck
this three-legged thingy is?

I bought it yesterday for a buck
at my fave little thrift store.

It is rusty steel, and it has
a hook to hold something.

I wonder if it is something that was used
to hold a little kettle over a ground fire?

Some of you (Lisa? Pat?)
know what all kinds of things are.

If you know, please enlighten me!

Word for the Day:
Luke 15:6
And when he comes home,
he calls together his friends and his neighbors,
saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me,
for I have found my sheep that was lost.’

My neighbors have something similar in their yard. It holds a big black pot that they have filled with flowers. Not sure if that was its original purpose or not. Interesting thingy whatever it is!

Revi, I don't know what it is, but it would look great with a lantern hanging from it. I am one of your newest followers. I love how you have a scripture with every post.

No idea what it's for, but looks, as Debbie suggests, that it must hold a bowl of some type. For a buck, I would have made the purchase too!

Oops, so interested in the object, I forgot to say thank you for sharing at Potpourri Friday!

It's hard to say. It doesn't look very big in this picture. Do you think it's as old as it looks?
I wonder...maybe it holds bananas? LOL... crazy I know. But that is the first thing that came to mind!

Sorry...no help. I agree with Dawna though...a lantern would look cool. Oh, you could wrap it with chicken wire and make a cloche...
Ok...I'm going now. If I think of something...I'll come back.
I'm trying to be helpful can you tell?

Looks like a those things people hang bananas on on their counters.
??? That's my best guess!

How tall is it? I know you have something cool to hand from it!

Huh? No clue what it was...but I rarely know what my stuff "was" either. It's all about what it will be :) Have a great weekend! Laurel

It might have held a bell or gong at one time, that was hit with something to call people to dinner. It doesn't look big enough for a cooking pot, but maybe that's just the picture and that was its original purpose.

I have seen these for sale before. You are to put it over a campfire with a handled pot to heat beans, etc.

i like the banana holder idea!

It is just like you thought, put a cast iron pot with a handle on it and put it over an open flame fire to heat beans in.
