I Need a Little Seven...

Sometimes you just have to do it.

Even if you are usually plain and simple, 

and you prefer solids to florals.

 Even if you aren't usually one who follows trends.

You don't have anything chevron or quatrefoil

in your home, though you like how they look

in other people's homes. You just have to do it.

You fight the urge to do it. You tell yourself,

"This fad will pass before I get it done."

But it doesn't. And you're still not tired of it. 

And you have all the supplies and "know-how" to do it.

So you just do it.

And you tell yourself, "This will be easy to change...

when I get tired of it." But for now...today...you like it.

Especially when you bought it for $6.96 looking like this...

...and it only took a couple of hours, a little chalk paint,

and a few things you already had on hand.

(copy of large number, carbon paper, craft paint & brush, pencil)

It is a little reminder of God's number of completion

And completion is sounding pretty good right now.

And you like to surround yourself with little reminders

because you need as many of them as you can find.

FYI - The number seven is in the Bible 316 times.

A Summer Mantel Redo in Less Than 24 Hours!.

...with a little encouragement from blog friends!

I was listening. 

When I asked for your input, I meant it.

And I appreciate your wise counsel.

Because, aside from being kind, you're smart.

And you have great style.

And those are the best kind of people to hang with!

You advised me to paint these candlesticks, but not the frame...

So I painted the candlesticks, and only painted a LITTLE on the frame.

Because I have this new thing of ASCP, and my brush was wet,

and I thought that detail would look great with a little dry brush...

But I didn't get rid of the natural shabbiness. Not a bit.

And I like the whole thing a lot better!

And I addressed the situation of the topiary on steroids...

Seriously. You couldn't even see the stick. But YOU were so nice about it!

So instead of feeling deflated and discouraged,

I felt equipped and encouraged! That's always a good thing.

And even though it's still not perfect, It's better than yesterday.

So I wanted to show you. And I wanted to thank you.

Your critiques and encouragement mean so much to me.

Because you  speak the truth in love.
