A sneak peek, just because I've made you wait so long...
There is still so much to do - paint the little black table...
finish "staining" the chest...
and the Martha Washington chair...
and there's a whole other wall accross from the main
seating area that needs attention...
and the mirror over the fireplace needs to be framed,
and the mantel needs to be dressed properly,
and the red window and front door need to be neutralized...
and there are more small details to finish, but all in all...
I am enjoying the process...
and my new "look" is similar to what I imagined last year
when I began making a mess in my whole house.
And that makes me happy.
I hope you're having a happy beginning of the week, too.
Word for the Day:
for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God.

Ok...first off, with all the neutrals, I sort of like the red window. A lot!
ReplyDeleteSecond...ah, your room looks dreamy. I love the new couch with all the exposed wood. Love the basket of candles in your fireplace,AND! the wood floor. It all looks wonderful to me. Very light and airy. ~Pat
You have a lovely home. I like all the textures you've brought in to give life to the white scheme. Is one of your chairs upholstered with an old flour sack? If so, that is awesome!
ReplyDeleteLooking great. Love the style you are going for, and it looks wonderful already. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGirl friend that picture of the desk in front of the window and that dresser area ... looks like something out of a magazine I kid you not. Then the chair that you just think needs recovering it's to die for. Love, love. I think the chair is really good.
ReplyDeleteI had to come back after your email...and just look at this room again. I love your collage wall. That first photo of the couch and wall, and shelving... looks like magazine quality for sure. I think you did a great job on the open shelving; painting them to look metal, primed grey... great treatment. They make the space on either side of the fireplace really stand out.

Wow, your living room is looking fanfliippingtastic! I love it...it is so unique, and I love the textures in it....so pretty and cottage-y. :D
ReplyDeleteHowever I love your red window trim....but don't ask me because red is my favorite color. ;P
Happy to see it all come together and you are enjoying the process. Great job.....Linda
ReplyDeleteLove the sneak peek of your living room. Can't wait to see the finally reveal! Visiting from Coastal Charm, so happy to be now following! :-)

hi, I found you on the Cowgirl Up link party. I absolutely love your living room! I will deinitely be cheking out the rest of your blog soon!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic...don't change a thing! But I know that's half the fun...
ReplyDelete♥Linsey
I love it! From the projects you have left, it sounds like there will be lots of fun in store. Then when you finish, by then, you will be ready to start all over again, right?
ReplyDeleteHa!

Looking good!
ReplyDeleteI see lots of fun things in there, T!
I really love this room! You've put it together well!
ReplyDeleteSusan
It look great! I like the way you pull this look together. So refreshing to see a room that everything hasn't been painted white. It has contrast and lots of personality!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Susie
Your room is coming together beautifully! And I know that feeling, it always seems like there are a few more things left to do. Not sure if it's ever really done!
ReplyDeleteRevi it's coming along beautifully. I am loving the new look. The arrangement above the dresser is fun. Love the number mixed among the frames. I too love having projects to work on. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
When I saw the red window (and before I read that you wanted to paint it), I thought "What a clever and pretty pop of color". Love it!
ReplyDeleteLots of projects left on your to do list I see however: what ever would we do with NOTHING LEFT TO WORK ON, CHANGE OR IMPROVE!! mmm maybe just sit and "swing awhile" and read some of those books we've had on our other "to do list"..enjoy!
