Little White Houses

I have a "thing" for houses.
Not just big, real, life-size ones.
I love objets d'art that have
the subject matter of houses.

Maybe the reason
I am drawn to them is
that I like home and
everything it represents.

These little wooden ones were
all found at thrift stores or
garage sales - at different times.

Since I'm attacking everything
in sight with white paint,
they were in my sights, so they
also got "the treatment."

Here are photos of a
 couple of them before white:

They were so cute, I almost decided NOT
to paint them. But in the end,
I chose to go with the graphic white silhouette.

Now, they're charming, but not "cute."

Because, cute is not really my thing.
I like plain and simple.

Word for the Day:

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house
You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or
his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey,
or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

During this week, the holiest week of the year,
may your house be blessed with all the blessings
your Father has arranged for you!

  2. Oh! I have a set of these packed away somewhere--from my "prim" days... they'd be so much better painted out differently. White like yours would be cool; but black would be neat too.
Heck! they'd be ok painted any solid color...I'm thinking butter yellow, or red too!

Such a sweet idea. Simple things...I love 'em!

I love reading your blog by the way...and I just wanted you to know that.
I like the scriptures you include at the end.
    Blessings,
