Industrially Wired

I am SO attracted to wire things. I don't know why.
Maybe I'm just wired that way.

I admit, that was pretty lame!
Just know my heart skipped a beat
when I saw this little wire container.

It looked like this:

I LOVE candles. Especially candles with lovely scents.
These, however, were NOT lovely nor scented.
They were grungy.

I've removed yucky old candle wax from thrifty treasures before.
It's not hard. And after a closer look,
these little terra cotta containers are pretty cute...

The shapes are nice.
I'm not so crazy about the design painted on them...

...but a little paint will take care of that.
I'm thinking a medium gray wash, maybe a little sanding...

And maybe some nice, new scented candles inside.

I could maybe use the wire basket separately from the candles, too.

 Any ideas?

This is another "industrial" thing I'll use in my living room.
I can tell. You really want to know what I paid for it.
It cost $1.07!

Word for the Day:

Psalm 18:28
King James Version (KJV)
For thou wilt light my candle:
the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

May you feel the warmth of his presence as you walk in the light!

  2. Great basket! I was thinking maybe leave the lid open and use it on a desk for folders, stationery, etc. It would be pretty with some fresh flowers in it also!

  5. Hey Tamala,
Your great hunting has paid off again--what a steal, too! I would put two small flower pots in the wire basket I think I would put some rosemary in the pots. I love to give a little touch to rosemary when I walk past it--love the fragrant aroma

  13. I must be wired that way too. I recently brought a wire basket to my antique booth and have been thinking about retrieving it ever since. Thing is, I wasn't using it here, shesh!

Ya, the candle vases are a cute shape but sometimes you just gotta re-donate the part you don't love. Ha!
