Thrifty Life Thursday #32 With Features From Last Week!

This adorable chair is a recent purchase for less than $6...at a thrift store I visit occasionally. Most of my favorite thrifts do not have furniture.

I also found a couple of ironstone pieces there - seriously taped together so you can barely see what they are in this photo! Oh, well, it can be a surprise for later.

This place is more expensive for small items, but sometimes I can find furniture for a reasonable price.

I put the chair on my tiny stoop/porch, and I'm seriously debating with myself whether or not to paint it.

My house is neutral - the paint color is "cafe au lait" and the windows and front door are painted a medium-dark gray.

However, I do have a rusty green wagon out there...and I plan to fill it with mums and pumpkins again.

I was considering moving the wagon to another part of the yard, so I'm leaning toward painting...some shade of white or gray.

Maybe I can take some photos this weekend and get your opinion...

MEANWHILE...Take a look at the features from last week!

Sherry from Thrift My House shared a tasty banana treat, and no, it's not a food post.

She found this mismatched furniture at a thrift store, her husband did surgery on the chair, and her daughter painted much of it. It is for her daughter's new solo occupancy bedroom. (Start 'em young, I say!) Go over and see the before photos. This family has skills!

Tania from Farragoz Designer's Notebook shared a really clever revision of a table. NO, it is not the dark gray piece on which the chair is sitting. Any guesses? You'll just have to visit to find out about the other table. BTW, a chair in a vignette! How cool is that?! You can consider this two creative ideas in one post - a lovely two-fer.

Cecilia from My Thrift Store Addiction is taking turns with Audrey to see who can be creative enough to be featured every week.

Seriously, but when you see these chairs...how could I NOT feature them? (Ummm, forget you've seen them featured in the A-list blogs already, just enjoy your opportunity to see such lovely chairs in such a beautiful color one more time. Then, if you haven't yet, go to her blog and pin them.)

THRIFTY LIFE THURSDAY #32

Gathering Guidelines:

This is a gathering for people who enjoy hunting for treasures
that may have previous experience or lived a former life elsewhere.

Please share items that are second-hand or are composed of second-hand materials.

Types of Posts to Share:
    • Home decor, furniture, collectibles, garden items and even wearables are welcome, as long as they have a second-hand element.
    • Please, no food items, new pieces from "real" stores, or crafts, unless made with upcycled, thrifty finds.
    • Hand-me-downs and curbside finds are welcome, as are items found in thrift stores, garage sales, antique shops, flea markets and other interesting places.
    • Treasures may be listed as you found them, or with your updates, tweaks, and re-purposes; befores and afters are both welcome.
    • Items need not be "vintage" but must be pre-owned or second hand.
    • Posts including Etsy and other shop links are welcome! For visitor enjoyment, please link to your blog post, not directly to your Etsy shop.
    Etiquette:
      • Though it is not a requirement, it would be lovely if you would follow Revisionary Life  via Blogger, Bloglovin' or subscribe via email. Links are located in my sidebar to the right.
      • Please link your post (not your blog address) back to Revisionary Life.
      • Please visit at least one other party friend.
      • I'd love for you to comment and introduce yourself if we've never met before. :) Otherwise, don't feel obligated to leave a comment.
      Features:
      • Featured items must meet the criteria above.
      • Only posts that link back may be featured.
      • I will try to leave a comment or email you and let you know if you were featured!

      Word for the Day:
      Hebrews 10:24-25
      24
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,
25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some,
but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

      1. Revi...I first thought that you had already painted the chair that neat color! I love surprises like that...an unexpected pop! I have a thing for chairs and yes, rarely find them at thrift stores.

I like the wagon, too. It's so rustic. It would look great in a neutral gray and then maybe sand it a bit to give it that aged look.

I have to remember your party!

      2. Revi, I love your little green chair. I think it is awfully cute "as is!"
Thanks so much for featuring my chairs and for your sweet comments. You were the very first to feature one of my posts & as far as I am concerned, always an A-list blogger :)

      6. This may be my second comment - the first disappeared off the screen. I love the aqua chair and think a mustard-colored basket with tiny white pumpkins would look so sweet. Thanks for hosting the A+ party!

      7. The chair is too cute and I really like it as is, but if you paint it I'm sure it will be fabulous!!

      8. Thanks, Revi, love your blog and this party. I really like the chair in the vignette - very similar to what we do in your booth space, so why not at home?! Love your chair and ironstone finds too - lucky you! You continously inspire me to keep checking the local thrifts.

      10. Revi ... the old wagon has so much time-worn character. Maybe it needs a good wax job if you do not decide to paint it. The chair is nice as it, but know you will put the Revi touch to it and make it better. Thanks always for a very fun party. Love the features and I want to find an oval table so I can make that clock.
