Seven Things I Wish I Could Find at a Thrift Store...

We all have a list of things...once in a blue moon we find them...often not.

#19/103 Tall Cast Iron Urn

A vintage cast iron urn
...and I'd be willing to pay $20. :) Let me know if you find one.

great display of vintage clocks

Vintage clocks
I never find them here. Don't people care what time it is in Texas?

Vintage trophies
I did find ONE sterling silver lamp trophy...very, very cool. Now, it needs friends.
Should I un-lamp it?

An industrial chair
This is a wish list. I can wish. Actually, as long as I am wishing, 3 would be great.

Vintage Enamel Signage
Pull...Push...Girls...I can think of any number of signs I might like.

A card catalog
Don't ask what I might do with it because I don't have a plan. I just know I would love to have one.

A vintage typewriter
Again, this is not a practical item. I won't use it for typing. I just want one. It would look great on my desk right now...

So, there are plenty things I think I need. I wish I had them. Bottom line, I have waaaaay more stuff than I need. I need to get rid of it. I desire a simpler, less cluttered life. Living in the same house for 12 years has not helped me cull through things on a regular basis.

I am thankful for my blessings. I need to let go of some of them...maybe some I don't love as much anymore. Maybe to make room for some of the other items I really would love.

Word for the Day:
Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

  1. I'm with you on the card catalog and the typewriter.

My biggest problem is that I like everything I buy and have a hard time parting with any of it. I have 2 houses full of stuff - our regular house and the lake house. I don't think my husband will let me buy a third house to store my treasures...

  2. I have an oak library card catalogue which I use to put wine bottles in...one per drawer

  4. Your list is basically the same as mine except I did find a $20 cast iron urn. Be ye thankful for the possessions you have. Someone told me today I needed to leave some for others.

  7. Hi Revi ... seems that we like and want the same things. I want a collection of vintage trophies so bad that I am buying anything that looks like a trophy. I passed on a nice typewriter, although I wanted it, but thought of all the dusting.
Good luck in filling all your wishes.
    Just keeps us looking.
    Blessings,

  8. What a great wish list! I've been downsizing for the last year since I moved and it's a great feeling to let go of things I no longer LOVE and let someone else enjoy them. I still have too much stuff, it seems to be an ongoing challenge to downsize!
    hugs,
    Linda

  9. I too would love to find a vintage cast iron urn ~ I'm seriously considering a newer one, just so I can have one by my front door to fill with flowers!!! I did find (first one in years) an ancient typewriter ~ unfortunately it was permanently attached to a very homely stand!!! I guess we just have to keep looking ~ and making wish lists. LOL, that wont be hard to do.

  10. I like your wish list :) It's pretty close to mine. If we had everything on our wish list, would we stop looking?!! (Yea, probably not--) I find that I need to be constantly attacking at least one area of my house at all times or I will be overrun with my stuff. I'm just finishing up my MBR closet and my garage--are they empty? No. Did I get rid of a ton of stuff? Yes. At least I'm not a hoarder...pretty sure I'm not anyway(!).
