If you're a minimalist, you may want to close your eyes. (What am I saying? A minimalist probably would not be here anyway...)
If you like as much vintage, rusty, tattered, industrial, cool old junk as you might possibly fit into a given space, keep reading. I have another cram-packed vignette for your viewing pleasure.
Where to begin...maybe at the top.
The gilded piece at the top of this vignette is not vintage, but it is several years old. Hannah bought one for me at Kirkland's years ago, and then I found this one at a thrift store.
The "T" on the left is 50 percent off at Hobby Lobby a few years back. The galvanized "M" below it is a new, very recent purchase from Michael's. It cost about $8.
The canvas in the center was a blessing from Linda at Itsy Bits and PIeces...from easycanvasprints.com.
It is a study of bird wings by Leonardo da Vinci.
The small "keep smiling" frame was a gift for my 50th birthday from a friend. She also gave me a French Bible box.
Below that is a vintage souvenir of the Eiffel Tower, and below that is a vintage frame with a number "1" glued inside it. Remember, numbers are clues to Bible verses in this living room...
The other numbers that go with this verse are 1, 0 and 3.
I needed a 1, and didn't want to stop to go out and buy a new one, so I scrounged around a box of metal junk and found the piece above.
Guess what it is!
Give up? A broken doorbell. It was in a bag of drawer pulls I wanted, and I kept it. It came in handy today.
Below the numbers is a photo holder - a recent thrift store find. The letters were found in a thrift store for .27c each. They spelled a few different words, but the one I decided to use was "SEE." I can't remember where I found the clock face, but I know it was cheap, and a long time ago.
The pumpkin is another Dollar Tree orange one I painted with house paint. The urn was a thrift store find, as were the books, the vintage folding ruler and the photo frames. The kids inside the frames are something I made myself. To date, they are my favorite projects ever.
You might recognize the thrift store mirrored place mat I tried to turn into a vintage mirror, using a variety of household chemicals. It was not exactly what I had in mind, but it is pretty close.
This was my inspiration:
I pinned this from All About Vignettes a while back.
I tried to trace it back to the original pinner, and lost the trail
at Little Blue Deer...so I don't know who originally pinned it.
I wrapped it with wire to create an industrial feel and hang it in a creative way. The gold ribbon was found at a thrift store.
To the right of the wired mirror is a vintage framed Bible verse, left as-is in its original mustard yellow frame.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Below the yellow frame is my rusty hammer head, found for .10c a couple of summers ago at a neighborhood garage sale. More thrift store vintage books and my first Bible.
The domed glass magnifiers were found in my back yard and at a thrift store. I think the ink bottle was in a box of art supply junk I purchased at an auction years ago. The vintage basked it s new thrift store find.
The vintage desk lamp is a thrift store find from years ago...

ReplyDeleteI guess I never knew why the numbers were so frequent in you living room. Just this one or past schemes as well?
I might want to check them again... :)
I knew that was a 103-- there, like how you improvised.
Like the verse...and am signing it in my head!
have a great week friend.
You've brought all your treasures together in a very pleasing way, Revi! I love the old doorbell used as the number one. :)
