Less than 24 hours ago, I found this table for .87c:
You may think I grab every free or .87c piece of furniture in my path...but that is not the case. I have criteria other than price.
This piece had cute bones. Good bones are a must.
Just like nice windows make a house beautiful in my aesthetic, furniture needs lovely lines. I thought this piece had nice lines.
No stripping required. I WANTED the old paint texture. I even wanted to see evidence of the orange past existence...
This morning, I got up early to take photos. After all, I've kept you waiting on the desk...so you needed a little instant gratification right along with me.
As I was painting, or actually waiting for the warm gray undercoat to dry...I painted some small things, too.
The heavy iron mini-planter was one of them.
I love it so much better now...
I've said it before, and I'll keep on saying it...
This is not where the table will end up...I have plans to switch things up; maybe this weekend...Lord willing and the creek don't rise!
Word for the Day:
James 4:13-15
13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— 14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”

That is the perfect little table! Love your makeover and the price cannot be beat!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

I love it! And more than that, I love a cheap cute table! I like how you let the orange show through the white. Funny, I too look for other things to paint while my main project is drying. When the brush is wet, nothing is safe around here. Hope you have a great weekend!

I love the finish! It looks like authentic chippy old paint!
ReplyDeleteoh.. I love it!! What a great deal for such a beauty!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks fabulous! You know how much I love layers and texture. You nailed it.
ReplyDeleteThe server is quite attractive in its distressed state. It looks right at home. The urn was worth the paint job.
ReplyDeleteit truly has great lines, and the new look is very nice. The price wasn't bad either :)
ReplyDeleteWell Revi ... that little table turned out so cute ... never would have thought it with all the coats of paint already on it. Love the metal piece painted too. A good look and a good job.

I love your paint makeovers...very pretty technique...
ReplyDeleteRevi, it turned out great. I love how paint can totally transform a piece.
ReplyDeleteWow - what a great transformation. I never would have thought to leave orange showing through and it looks great! You have a talent for paint. Trust me, it is not magic in everyone's hands!
ReplyDeleteI like the finish on your muffin table, but I'm really loving the finish on the little metal pot! I have one of those tables and mine folds somewhat like the flip top tea tables/fire screens of old. Can't wait to see how you change things up next.
ReplyDeleteHi Revi, Audrey@Timeless Treasures suggested I check out your blog and I can see why! Doesn't get much better than an .87 table--Love your transformation! I will be linking to your Thursday party soon...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I absolutely love that frugal thrifty table. It is AWESOME. You did a great job with all your painted projects.
ReplyDeleteWell done, indeed!
