Found Angel

Last week, I visited my third favorite thrift store. It's just down the street from Jack & Greg's.

First, I spotted the old bead board...and wondered what it might be. I decided to buy it for a buck-fifty. The tin made me think it might have been an angel...

I wondered if the wire was supposed to hold a halo...

Later on, I spied another bundle. Thin wood girl shapes, dowel rods and legs WITH some chippy angel wings made me think I'd found the answer to my mystery...

In any case, I wanted the wings. So for another buck, the strange bundle went into my basket.

When I got home, I un-taped the legs and dowel rods and freed the wings.

I was only somewhat surprised when they fit together perfectly with the bead board body.

About the halo - she's fine without it. She may fit in even better around here without one!

I like her just the way she is. No painting needed!

Wait...do you think SHE is a HE? No curls...Hmmm.

In any event, I now have a lovely folk art orphan angel for $2.50.  Welcome home, Dear!
