I really like this little thing.
It is simply charming.
It is obviously handmade...yet found
for next to nothing in a thrift store.
Only it didn't look exactly like this...
First, it looked like this:
Then it got painted in ASCP Old White,
and stayed that way for a few weeks.
Still charming, but not quite right.
I was sure it still needed something.
So I stenciled a number on it,
which was promptly sanded off.
Yep, the number didn't look right.
So it had to go.
Instead of repainting, I kept sanding.
And I like it this way best of all.
It may go in the kitchen, or possibly the bathroom...
all I know for sure is that I'm keeping this one.
Word for the Day:
Revelation 13:16-17
16 He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17 so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

It's adorable and I love the shape. It looks like it would be very useful in several rooms in the house.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like just the right size for the rectangular dinner napkins or guest towels. Or maybe moss and ornaments?
ReplyDeleteI like it sanded off too!
ReplyDeleteLove this piece, and the look of it sanded is just so lovely! Thanks so much for linking up to Blissful Whites Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Friday and weekend!

There IS something very charming about it. The soft curves and it's practicality draw me in and the way you finished it off accentuates it's best features! So will you keep it or sell it?

It's just perfect the way it is now; sometimes less is more. Isn't it funny how an "oops" can turn out to be just what it needed?
