Funky Found Object

My last trip to Jack & Greg's shop resulted in 

bringing home this little tray.

It caught my eye from the top of a shelf behind 

some less beautiful what-nots.

I love the well-worn patina and 

chippy elegance of it.

The front is hand-painted in a lovely ochre,

and subdued chartreuse green, with bright

accent colors in yellow, red and blue, and details in brown.

The back of the tray has some 

interesting qualities as well...

This little stamped area...

And this printed information:

This tray is about 9 x 12 inches.

I'm not sure what its intended use was,

but it may have been used in serving Sake...
